Amidst much speculation and rumour, the launch timeline for the much anticipated BMW G310R has been revealed for India. This time, the information has come straight from the horse’s mouth. BMW Motorrad has confirmed via its official Twitter handle that the G310R will be launched in India during the 2017 Spring season, which suggests that it will arrive anytime from March to May 2017. The motorcycle will be manufactured at the TVS production facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Besides, its adventure version called the BMW G 310 GS will also be manufactured alongside and its India launch is scheduled towards the end of 2017.
The BMW G310R is powered by a 313cc, liquid-cooled, single cylinder mill that comes mated to a six-speed transmission. The fuel injected motor develops a maximum power output of 34 bhp along with a peak torque of 28 Nm. The braking gets done with the help of disc brakes at both ends. The suspension system comprises of inverted forks up front along with a monoshock at the rear.
The prime highlights of the BMW G310R include a muscular roadster styling, full digital instrumentation, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and LED tail lamp. The bike was first showcased in India at the 2016 Auto Expo earlier this year in February and gained a decent amount of appreciation from the audience. For those who do now know, the G310R has been developed under the joint venture between TVS and BMW Motorrad that has been signed to develop and manufacture sub 500cc bikes in India.
