In a few hours that the trailer of ‘Raees’ hit YouTube, it managed to clock 266,394 views, and counting.
And why not! After playing the pop-shrink in ‘Dear Zindagi’, Shahrukh Khan (SRK) is back in menacing form. In a throwback to his ‘Don’-esque bad outing, ‘Raees’ looks set to take the villain Khan a step further.
Based on a true story about bootlegger Raees Aslam, this drama is set in the Popatiyawad area of Gujarat. Rahul Dholakia of ‘Parzania’ fame is the director of this film that is set to hit the theatres in January.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui essays the role of an honest policeman who swears to bring King Khan to his knees. Incidentally, ‘Raees’ had kicked up a row in the wake of the Uri attacks, courtesy SRK’s love interest being played by Pakistani actress Mahira Khan. And while that seems to have settled for now, with King Khan’s teaser act.
