Kadakampally Surendren, the Minister for Tourism, Govt. of Kerala said that education is the basis of a righteous life. The Minister was speaking after giving away the District Sahodaya Scholastic Excellence Awards to CBSE students from the district. The future of children is fashioned during the few years of education, therefore, there is a need to adopt and implement a syllabus that would help the future of children, he said. Through education, the children should be able to develop a noble lifestyle in a society torn by conflicts, he added.
The function, which was conducted at Santhigiri Siddha Medical College Auditorium, was presided over by Swami Gururetnam Jnana Tapaswi, Organizing Secretary, Santhigiri Ashram. The keynote address was delivered by Sri G. Raj Mohan, the Patron of District Sahodaya. Swami Pranava Suddhan Jnana Tapaswi, the Principal of Santhigiri Vidya Bhavan, President Dr. Vijayan, Sri Vincent, Principal, Mount Carmel Residential School and Smt. Laxmi S, Principal, Blue Mount Public School also spoke in the function. The students from CBSE Schools in the District who got A+ and those who had earned 90% in all subjects were felicitated on the occasion.
